According to a new government people plan called “The interim NHS people plan” launched in a bid to address the NHS’ workforce, states that it is important to provide better culture and retention but experts warn managers need to ‘start with their own behaviour’ to enact change – The NHS needs to rapidly become a better place to work, as well as address growing staff shortages
The interim NHS people plan which has been developed by the British Medical Association (BMA), the Royal College of Nursing (RCN), NHS managers and staff unions argues that more needs to be done to improve keeping existing healthcare staff and transform ways of working on top of recruiting new workers.
The plan, focuses on three key areas – recruiting more staff; making the NHS a better place to work; and equipping it to meet the future challenges

Other departments have reported losing hundreds of thousands of pounds’ worth of staff time to stress alone.
Senior Whitehall officials have suggested that increased workloads and stubbornly high harassment levels were causing this issue
Liberal Democrat MP Tom Brake, who compiled the data, said the impact of Brexit was also likely to be a contributing factor due to harassment of civil servants and loss of focus from other policy work.

Peripatetic Treatment & Occupational Health Nurse
Location: London – various Sites
Job Type: Full Time Permanent
Occupational Health Staffing is looking to recruit a Treatment & Occupational Health Nurse on a full time permanent basis to work on a number of their client sites in London. Working for a high profile health care provider the successful individual will be required to work in a multidisciplinary team providing Occupational Health screening, treatment and emergency response services across client sites across the London Region.
This role requires an ability to assess and manage minor injury and illness, deliver health and wellbeing initiatives, and work with external organisations and other healthcare professionals.
Main duties of the role include:
To apply you will be a registered nurse with NMC Part 1 and have experience within OH, A&E and/or an acute/practice area
This is a full time role, where the successful applicant will work Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day between the hours of 8.00am and 4.00pm
Salary: £34 – £36K + 25 days holiday
