From the REC: The coronavirus crisis deepened, employer confidence in the UK economy plunged by 39 percentage points between March and April. This was the lowest since records began.
As the country entered the third week of lockdown, confidence in making hiring and investment decisions fell by 16 percentage points compared with the previous month.
Some brighter news for the temp market – More employers this month highlighted the importance of temporary agency workers in providing short-term access to key strategic skills and managing fast changing organisational requirements compared to March

NHS England are working on a specification to use private OH providers for NHS OH teams. They are working with Dr Shriti Pattani and the SOM who are offering advice. They are also looking at how to screen new / returning entrants to the NHS.

Occupational Health Staffing are looking to recruit a full or part time permanent occupational health advisor for a regional health care provider in Dorking, Surrey, the client will consider some days worked at home where possible. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team the post holder will provide a high quality Occupational Health Service as follows:-
– Work health (pre-employment) assessments
– Ergonomic workstation assessments
– Food handling risk assessments
– Health promotion
– Health surveillance
– Immunisation of staff at risk of infection, e.g. overseas travel
– Individual absence case management
– Management of ill health retirement
– On site flu vaccinations programmes
– Policy development
– Pregnancy risk assessment
– Drug and alcohol testing
– Counselling

Occupational Health Staffing are looking to recruit an emergency treatment nurse for a healthcare provider to work on a full time shift rota basis (24/7 – day shift, night shift and spilt shifts, unsocial hour rates will be paid accordingly) as part of a team of nurses in Hinkley, Somerset. The successful candidate will be required to undertake:-
